The Literacy Collective, led by Brittany Philipsen and Danielle Lucas-Adam, is an educational consultancy dedicated to improving literacy achievement in schools. We are literacy leaders committed to fostering leader and teacher capacity through individualized, targeted development, and implementing data-driven systems to ensure all students experience an equitable and meaningful education centered on robust academic outcomes.
We are former teachers, instructional coaches, literacy specialists, and school leaders who partner with schools and districts to strengthen literacy instruction through evidence-based professional learning, coaching, and systems support. Our work is grounded in the science of reading, structured literacy, and practical implementation that leads to meaningful and lasting instructional change.
Across public, charter, and private school settings, we have supported the implementation of literacy curriculum, evidence-based practices, assessment systems, MTSS structures, and teacher development aligned to the needs of diverse learners. We specialize in helping schools translate research into actionable instructional practices that improve outcomes for students and build educator capacity.
Our approach is collaborative, responsive, and rooted in authentic application. We work alongside leaders and teachers to design coherent literacy systems, strengthen instruction, and support sustainable improvement that meets the needs of both educators and students.
At Literacy Collective, we are committed to growing our knowledge base to better support you! Check out some of our certifications and credentials.
